Sanctum Movie Review- By: Chris Kickzme

Description : Universal Movies came out with a new drama/thriller film labeled "Sanctum" into theaters a few weeks ago. I recently checked it out,and thought that it was fairly nice. It was a very intense and emotional movie. It features: Richard Roxburgh, Rhys Wakefield, Ioan Gruffudd, Alice Parkinson, and Dan Wyllie.

Sanctum movie centered around a party of underwater cave divers who seemed to be having a fun time when they arrived on the scene at one of the most lovely and least accessible cave systems on the planet. Sadly I must say, there wonderful times wouldn't last long.

The squad consisted of about 7 or 8 people, but that number swiftly dwindled down as the film rolled along. The gang was led by character Frank who was an extremely skilled master diver. One girl loses her life when her oxygen line inadvertently gets sliced while diving deep with Frank. They were too deep to make it back to the surface area,so it just didn't work out for her.

Soon after that, the poor bad luck flooded in on them, both realistically and figuratively when a break in the cave caused immense amounts of water to come racing in. After all this, they had only just a few of hours to a day to get out of the cave before it was fully bombarded.

Their beginning exit gets impeded in,so they had to obtain another way from the cave. As they tried to identify a different way out of the cave, they began meeting their demises. One male lost his balance off some rocks that were pretty high up. Another guy died from difficulties from a dive. Then one female drowned after dropping of some rocks. Many of the fatalities seemed really avoidable. People just made foolish actions. Each loss of life concluded with someone drowning,or being forced to drown as their state was so undesirable that living didn't feel like the preferred choice.

After a long journey to make it out of the cave, strangely enough, just one person made it out;and that individual just slightly made it out. What I got out of the flick,is that maybe these folks shouldn't have taken this trip. That's pretty much it. Other than that,it just seemed almost pointless. There was loads of heated moments between a lot of the crew members as their emotions got the better of them, which supplied good quality drama scenes

I liked the flick because it was entertaining. There was never a dull moment. As far as the storyline goes, there wasn't really anything else to it. The people just got involved in lousy conditions while looking to explore this original cave, and perished. It almost more or less reminded me of those "Final Destination" pictures accept all the deaths occurred in a flooded underwater cave. I gave the film a good B-.
